Pray The Word, Psalm 94

1. Prayer for God to Rise in Justice

   Inspired by: “O Lord, the God who avenges, shine forth. Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.” (Psalm 94:1–2)

   Righteous Judge,
   You see all things—nothing escapes Your eye.
   Rise up in justice and judge the earth in Your righteousness.
   Do not let the arrogant go unpunished forever.
   Let those who oppress and destroy know that You reign.
   Show Your justice and defend the cause of the innocent.
   Amen.

2. Prayer Against Injustice and Evil Leadership

   Inspired by: “They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting… They slay the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless.” (Psalm 94:4–6)

   Lord of Truth and Compassion,
   You hear the cries of the oppressed and see the cruelty of the wicked.
   Bring down every corrupt power that destroys and oppresses.
   Defend the widow, the orphan, the stranger, and the poor.
   Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.
   Amen.

3. Prayer for Awakening of Conscience

   Inspired by: “Take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?” (Psalm 94:8)

   God of Wisdom,
   Open the eyes of those who walk in pride and arrogance.
   Shake the hearts of those who act without fear of You.
   Let Your truth break through deception.
   Awaken this generation to Your holiness and Your justice.
   Amen.

4. Prayer for Trust in God’s Justice

   Inspired by: “The Lord knows all human plans; He knows that they are futile.” (Psalm 94:11)

   All-Knowing God,
   You understand the thoughts and motives of every heart.
   Let me not envy the wicked or fear their plans.
   Help me remember that their schemes are temporary and empty.
   Keep my eyes fixed on Your eternal purposes.
   Amen.

5. Prayer for Comfort in Affliction

   Inspired by: “When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy.” (Psalm 94:19)

   God of Comfort,
   When I am overwhelmed by fear and anxiety, come close to me.
   Speak peace into my spirit.
   Let Your presence quiet my restless thoughts.
   I take refuge in Your promises and find joy in knowing You are near.
   Amen.

6. Prayer of Confidence in God’s Defense

   Inspired by: “The Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.” (Psalm 94:22)

   My Refuge and Defender,
   When the world feels unsafe and the wicked seem strong,
   I run to You.
   You are my shield, my rock, and my defender.
   Stand with me and fight on my behalf.
   Let no weapon formed against me prosper.
   Amen.

7. Prayer for Justice Against the Wicked

   Inspired by: “Can a corrupt throne be allied with You—a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?” (Psalm 94:20)

   Holy and Just God,
   You are not allied with injustice or corruption.
   Break the power of every authority that misuses its position.
   Remove from power those who love evil more than truth.
   Let righteousness be established in the land.
   Amen.

8. Prayer for God’s Discipline and Instruction

   Inspired by: “Blessed is the one You discipline, Lord, the one You teach from Your law.” (Psalm 94:12)

   Loving Father,
   Teach me through Your Word and correct me in love.
   Help me receive Your discipline with humility and trust.
   Shape my heart according to Your truth.
   Give me rest in the days of trouble, knowing You are working for my good.
